1996 Chevy S-10 fuel pump

Does the fuel pump on this truck contain a check valve? Some times will start right up and others takes a little bit to start. Has just had major tune up and fuel filter changed last week. Replaced fuel pump not to long ago used ac delco.

Check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump. If okay test the coolant temperature sensor and throttle position sensor, also clean out the idle air control valve.
