1996 Chevy S-10 force compressor on to recharge AC

I own a 96 chevy S10 2.2l 4 cylinder pick up. I need to know the trick on how to start the ac compressor to recharge it. It won't kick on because of low refrigerant. The Haynes manual says to connect a jumper wire on 6 cyl trucks but does not address 4cyl that does not have the same wiring.

See the silver can back by bulk head near Evap box. That switch is low cutout jumper that and compressor will run if all else is good

You can try tapping on that switch also. Some of them switches like to stick. And see if it will come on
