Brakes problem
1995 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

brakes where working fine before replacement of front pads and passenger side caliper. Brakes have been bled many times with no problems. Brakes are not working properly not enough grip to stop. Back brakes have been inspected and are fine. What should I check or what could the problem be know?

Calipers should always be changed in pairs, not one. If your brake spull to one side or the other then you should check your caliper for one side being frozen. It still could be that as well where the caliper isn't moving well in the bracket. The pads may be installed incorrectly. The pad that has the notch in it for the spring should go to the inside along with the spring clip to hold it in the piston. YOur rotors may be worn out as you should check to see the thickness of them. These should have been replaced or machined when you replaced the pads. There is a minimum thickness cast on the inside of hte rotor. Also make sur to adjust he rear brakes as they may not be even hitting the drums.
