Transmission problem
1995 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 180k miles

when I start the truck it feels extremely rough idling in park and even more so in revers but once it's in drive it runs fine. I haven't driven it since this started because I don't want to make it worse. if feels very shaky and rough right in the drivers seat so I assumed it's the transmission but if thats the case then I don't know why it's doing it in park aswell. any information on why this might be happening and some solutions to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Check the EGR valve. The early units tend to get stuck open with a small chunk of carbon. Causes a very rough idle and once your above 10-15 mph it clears up.
