Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My s-10 blazer was having a hard time starting so I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and now it won't start at all. I was told to try the fuel pressure regulator because when it was starting I could smell gas really strong. If I hold the gas pedal down I can get it to run but only barely increase the rpms as I hold down the pedal. As soon as I let of the pedal it dies. The comp gave me a TPS / ECM code and we changed the tps. The ECM is costly so I don't want to just change it is there something else I can try?

Check the fuel pressure. It should go up and hold steady with the key on. If it drops off, suspect a faulty fuel pressure regulator or fuel feed and return lines inside the plenum.

It used to start after about 10-15 seconds of turning over. Then we did the tune up (plugs wires rotor and cap) and it wouldn't start at all so we did the fuel pressure regulator. Then we got the ecm/tps code. What else besides the fuel pressure reg could it be.
