I have a 1994 Chev s-10 that starts a nd idles fine. When I give it gas it stutters and misses. If I put it in gear, hold the brake, and mash it to the floor than it will bog down and spit a sputter with a small backfire sometimes. The check engine light is not on. I was thinking maybe a tune up but there it has a coil pack. Please help. I love my old truck.

I would start with checking the fuel pressure and also taking a few sample.

I'm going to just do a complete tune up. Plugs, wires, all filters. Can't gp wrong with that. I just hope it's not one of those sensors. Without a code it's like throwing money into a fire

If the plugs and wires are original they need to be replaced anyway. Its not likely to be a sensor because you have no codes.

When you first turn the ignition on the cluster goes into bulb check. See if the service engine soon light comes on then. If not the bulb is probably out.
