I have seen this a few times. When you remove the speed sensor from the transmission, 1st off check the shape of the plastic gear on the end of the sensor. If it is concaved, smaller or larger on the ends than in the middle, you will also need to replace the gear inside of the transmission that turns the speedo sensor. Another thing to check is while you have the speed sensor out, try moving the gear that is inside the transmission (in the hole where the speedo sensor just came out of). If that gear moves, your going to have to take off the end of the transmission and see why the gear isnt being held in place.

Well back in the day, there used to be a problem with the ABS modules that would cause various ABS codes that we could never figure out. Finally found out that by trying a test module, the problem went away so we assumed it was a glitch in the module. If this model has a black plastic box mounted next to the master cylinder with 2 connectors going into it, then possibly that might be whats happening. Other than that guess, you might try ohming the wiring from the ABS module to the sensor, but I'm thinking that the wires from the sensor go somewhere else before going to the module.

Something like this, it might be wise to get a shop involved or it could get costly with guesswork.
