1993 Chevy S-10 ABS Pump

My ABS pump is making a humming sound and continues to make it once I turn the car off. I have to disconnect the battery because it will drain it. What can it be and can I do away with the entire abs function as opposed to replacing it if I have to?

is the ABS light on ? the pump is probably shot or maybe just a stuck relay.
