Transmission problem
1993 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My question is about the transmission not shifting. The mechanic I used changed the computer and this did not fix the problem. Now they said it could be the speedometer or the wiring harness. When they had it hooked up to their diagnostic machine they said the transmission was fine. What could cause this problem?

Hi John,

Ok, you say it doesn't shift, does it move at all is it stuck in first gear, second gear?

Couple possibilities.

Torq Converter

Transfer Case

Burnt Tranny Fluid

I would recommend getting it to a Transmission Shop most auto shops don't have the proper equipment for testing the tranny.
