1993 4 door Blazer with 4.3 liter "W" motor. I have a noise in the front driver side that no one including myself has been able to diagnose.
Sounds like a Whirr, whirr, whirr, noise that goes up & down with the rotation of the tire. Starting and stopping during each revalution. I have replaced both the CV drive axles and the hub assemblies(both sides) to no avail. The noise still exist. I had a alignment done, nothing. I have had two shops look it over, neither could figure it out either. Had them check everything they could including whether something was bent. They said there was nothing was that they could see.
Now here's the funny thing, when I engage the 4 wheel drive(push button, (vac)) the noise goes away. I have just purchased new torsion bar mounts/insulators possibly thinking that could be the problem, grasping at straws here.
Any ideas.
Thanks

Hello well this may be that the front transfer is not disingauging all the way causing it to make noise. This may be caused by a vacuum line that is leaking that controls the 4wd. I hope this will help your problem.

Thanks

I didn't say it, but I did check if the vacuum was sticking, and that doesn't appear to be the case. I replaced all the major players in the vacuum system and checked all the hoses.
I also checked everything I could wherever anything was mounted to the frame. Everything appeared to be tight.
This one has me absolutley baffled.

Hello well maybe the cable that is under the battery tray and runs down to the front axle could be streched out causing the 4wd to not disingauge.
