1992 Chevy S-10 starting

If your saying, the starter won't crank, yes it could be a clutch switch. With the key in the crank position, the purple wire at the starter solenoid, should be hot. Make sure the tranny is in neutral and the e-brake is set, before testing. Block the wheels.
