1991 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Brake and hazard Lights not working, bulbs and stop light switch are new. Suspect that it is the 'Little Black Box' Need Error codes to verify

Check and test the directional/hazard switch

Did you check applicable fuses, not only check fuse, check that the fuse circuit has voltage. Did you check for voltage to and from the stop lamp switch? Orange wire at the switch is hot all the time, white wire goes hot when the switch is activated. The brake lites are wired through the turn/hazzard switch.

Found the problem. seems that the previous owner had spliced into the hot wire leading to the stop light switch. The splice was coming loose. We just redid the splice and all is working fine now. am so happy that it wasn't the 'Little Black Box'.
