This might sound weird but my air conditioner starts blowing cold and stays that way for about 10 to 15 minutes and then turns hot. If I stomp on the gas it will change back to cold but only for about a minute or two. I charged the system about 5 months ago and it was working just fine.

The next time it happens, go out and look to see if the compressor is engaged or not. If it isn't, then you will have to troubleshoot the electrical circuit. It could be a weak clutch coil, lazy relay or a bad pressure switch. If the compressor is remaining engaged all the time, then you may have a blockage in the system.
