Aacouple months ago my truck would turn over but not start, and you couldnt hear the fuel pump go on, we found it to be the ignition module, and we had also replaced the fuel pump. Just got it running again less than a week ago, it would start and you could hear the fuel pump turn on. Last night ith appened again, it would turn over but not start, and the fuel pump doesnt make a sound. I know the reason it would not fire is because the module has found away to disconnect cause the rubber cement like stuff isnt holding it in place, but this doesnt answer why the fuel pump quit turning on.

if this question is detailed enough, what is it that happens to the one that effects the other.

Engine cranking, my info shows an oil pressure switch in your fuel pump circuit, If the switch and circuit are ok, the pump will run, even if you unplug the relay, but, the engine has to be cranking to bring up oil pressure, usually about 4psi will close the switch.

The initial prime is usually only a couple of seconds at key on. You have that even without rpm signal. You can't have rpm signal without engine cranking. I'm not sure I answered your question?
