when i drive my 1988 s10 when i stop at a stop sign or a light it stalls and i don't know what is wrong with it can you please help?

first you should change the spark plugs and wires if not done recently and change the fuel filter and run some engine cleaner through with a tank of fresh gas
if that does not remedy the problem then you should clean the EGR valve and change the PCV valve and clean out the throttle body.
