1987 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

With the heads on the engine how do i know what valve what is exhaust and what valve is intake???

Looking at the head you can tell which is which-the exhaust valve will be on the exhaust runner side and intake valve at the intake manifold runner side-
