I went to replace my thermometer and when i got the 2 bolts off of the water outlet I knoticed that there was a crack in the piece that the thermometer sits in. this peice connects to the block and to the water outlet. What is this piece called? I have looked everywhere for it and no one has one. I have even looked in the salvage places around here. The crack got bigger since i took it off. I have even looked around the internet for it and cant find anything on it. Can you help me??

Should be refered to as a thermostat housing. Any salvage yard should have it.

It will be tough to get this part from a salvage yard because they want to sell the engine not parts off of the engine. I would go to AutoZone to see if they have it. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
