Im getting a popping noise thru the carb, when driving it has little power at take off and the popping is really load. As you get up in speed and gears change it gets quiter, but basically unless your on the gas it does not do it. Can a bad distributor make this happen?

A rich or lean mixture, excessive carbons in the cylinders, incorrect igniton timing and sparkplugs heat range and the list goes on. I recommend you check the Carb's Accelerator pump and metering circuits
