My daughter bougt a 2002 chevy prizm with 85000. I took it to Uncle Ed's for an oil change. They said it was really dirty which would cause sludge because it looked like it hadn't been changed in a while. I let them do an engine flush. My brother in law said this was really dangerous and may destroy the engine because any dislodged sludge that wasn't drained will be in there. Should I be worried? Should I go out and get another oil change right now to try to avoid this? What signs should I be looking for if problems. My kid spent 3500 on the car and no money for repairs so I hope I didn't destroy her engine trying to be nice by flushing the engine.
