i bought a 1999 engine for my 20001 prism. they said it would fit. however, i have discovered that the camshaft is different, only one spike on the1999 cam for the camshaft sensor vs 3 on the 200l engine. will the engine function properly with this difference?

If you bought engine from salvage yard, then you most likely have to change the sensor to a 01 sensor. If 01 sensor will not fit, then contact seller and ask them.
