I have a 1991 chevy S-10 4 cylinder 5 speed manual I dont know about the miles the mileage is stuck on 156,000. I pulled up in front of the store and shut my truck off, and I went inside. When I came back out it would'nt start. I checked to see if it was getting fuel and it was'nt? So I checked to see if the fuel pump was coming on when I turned the key on and it was. So I checked to see if it was getting a spark and it was not? oh and I checked the fuses and they are all good. What could it be?

Were the conditions damp?

How had it been running?

Any recent repairs?

When was the last time the cap, rotor and wires, Plugs were changed. Not saying this is the problem but still important and potentially relevant.

Maybe someone else can pick up on this and help you out. Short of that I can guess if you want.

You asked me for my opinion so, here it goes.

You said "no spark", so I would start there. Before changing things I would check all electical connections to make sure that something has not come loose or a connector has not burned through, I had this happen once. I would also check the fuses again and test them by replacing each one with a new one. Sometimes it is difficult to 'see' if a fuse is burnt out. No spark at all could be the coil, but I would change out the cap, rotor, plugs and new wires. It probably needs it anyway. If still no-go, then I would change the coil.

Hope that helps.
