Hello, I own a 1969 Chevrolet c/10 with the original 250 6 cylinder with well over 200,000 miles on it. My question has to do with a shifter conversion that was done before I bought the truck. The truck use to be a column shift, and the previous owner converted it to the floor. However the speedometer cable no longer fits in the transmission do to the shifting linkage, any help would greatly be appreciated? I cannot find any info on the web. Is their some sort of off set connector or another alternative?
Please Help!

When the shifter was put in should have nothing to do with the cable. Is the shifter linkage preventing the cable from being attached to the transmission? The shifing linkage could have been put in backwards. Don't laugh, I had done it years ago, once . What is the shift pattern?

Ok the shift pattern is right. does the shift linkage run on top towards the top of the transmission? or does it run on the bottom. Just a question for you. Is the linkage in the way for the speedometer to be hooked up?

It looks to be on the bottom and side I have uploaded a pic, the linkage does not give enoughth room for the connection of the locknut on the cable end
