Nope! You do need to complete gasket set for the intake system since it all needs to be removed to get to even one of the heads. Then you need one head gasket for the head that is blown as well as an exhaust manifold gasket since it has be be unbolted from the head in order to take the head off. Good Luck. I hope this helps.

Just one head gasket can be done, but personally I would do both. The engine is already torn down and something caused the failure, whether it was overheating or a corrosion issue, if one went then the other might not be in such great shape. Alot more money to go back in 6 months later to do the other. Assuming that you mean the gasket when you say the head is "blown"

I absolutley second Jack on this. Maybe you'll get lucky, but it like just washing one arm pit, the other is still gonna stink and need washin soon.

Suggested Repair

One failed head gasket can be replaced, along with a complete intake gasket set and the exhaust manifold gasket. Doing both head gaskets is recommended while the engine is apart, and the cause, such as overheating or corrosion, should be addressed.

Conversation Summary

The owner asked whether both cylinder heads must be repaired on a Caravan if one is blown. Experts said only the failed head gasket is required, plus the intake gasket set and exhaust manifold gasket, but two recommended replacing both because the engine is already apart and the other may fail soon. They treated a blown head as a failed head gasket and cited overheating or corrosion as possible causes.
