Dexcool coolant

I have a 2002 Chevy Venture minivan with 52,000 miles. I am replacing the intake manifold gasket because it is leaking dexcool coolant. Should I replace the dexcool coolant in the systm with regular green antifreeze since I have read that Dexcool could be the causing the gaskets to fail? If not, does anyone know about the extended life coolant. Would this be better than regular Dexcool? Thank you

Dexcool is extended life coolant. You should put dexcool back in it. GM uses dexcool in all its cars for some time now and it does not cause leaks. You just had a special circumstance.

Dex-cool is the major problem that causes the intake manifold gasket to fail. I just had the same problem on my buick rendezvous. Contact GM and raise hell about it and they will help you fix it. I did and it paid off. They have a bunch of lawsuits against them already.
