2004 Impala ls, 23000mi, air compressor runs with heater on even when outside temp. Is in the teens. Compressor also noisy. Dealer says all is normal. Is this normal. Thanks.

Do you have it selected to defrost? It doesn't matter the temp outside, the compressor is made to come on when selected to defrost. And it will make a louder noise when the ac clutch enguages.
