1988 Other Chevrolet Models battery screw is stripped

what can i do? my battery screw is stripped. it is a brand new battery. i bought a new cable after i had already ruined the area where the screw goes with the old one. please help

if the screw itself is stripped then you can get another at an auto parts store. if the part in the battery is stripped then you might find a heli coil to use or loctite makes a product that allows you to tighten a bolt about 25# but i don' tnow how it works electrically. Otherwise you 'll have to get another battery....
