1987 Other Chevrolet Models fuel sending unit

i put a new sending unit in my truck yesterday because the unit wasnt getting power i cheked the relay ...she got power and now sending unit isnt getting power but th e relayis getting nothing i dont know what the problem is

The fuel gauge sending unit has two wires, a ground and a wire that sends a resistance signal to the gauge.

On most GM cars it is 0-90 ohms, 0 being empty and 90 being full.

So, use multimeter and check for resistance, shake car and resistance should fluctuate a few ohms.

Is that your question or is your fuel pump not working?

my 87 chevy scottsdale the fuel pump and sending unit isnt turning on the realy is nt comming on either checked every thing i have no idea what the problem is i have gone over my haynes manuel 90 thousand times ......
