Regardless, I think you are refering to the ignition module. If that shuts down, so does the engine. As far as the conversion, everything had to be changed so my first question is, are you getting a quality part? Many of the parts we buy today come from China and don't hold up.

As far as the starters, have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check the voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. You should be getting 12+ volts. LEt me know what you find with that. Finally, if that is fine and the starter sounds normal when it cranks the engine, I have to ask if you have done anything to increase compression that would place a greater strain on the starter and are all grounds clean and tight?

There isn't anything written under the picture, the word wondering is just broken in half on each side of the picture. It can't be a cheap part problem cause' I've bought the best of everything for this truck. I don't know much about the truck it was a block and holly heads when we started. I've replaced the ignition modular twice and now the starter is acting funny. I was just wondering if somehow I am getting too much voltage. Thanks, I'll start with the starter.

If you think about it, the starter needs full battery power. So too much power really isn't a question. I have seen bad starters that draw too much amperage that cause other problems. But it needs 12+ volts to work.
