1977 C10 Chevy

My truck starts up fine and runs great but when I run it for long periods of time and go to turn it off, it starts jumping and popping like it wants to keep running and then it makes a fizz sound as it shuts off, can anyone help?

your truck sounds like it is dieseling. that meant that the throttle plate is too far open at idle. it may also be from not enough timing. try advancing the timing a bit and lowering your idle setting. that should help. thanks, Ron
