1974 Other Chevrolet Models wont go up hill

my truck will drive just fine on flat ground but when I go up hill it slows down to almost a stop no matter how much gas you give it

your exaust pipe may have collapsed . a vacuum guage reading of less thatn 15' wil note this. try disconnecting the exaust just behind the down pipe.
