1962 Other Chevrolet Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i noticed a red light that is on the dash board that reads "over speed" what does this mean

this sounds like a truc that would have a two speed rear end. it would menan it'sgoing to fast to shift into the other rear end gear. Unless te sending nit is bad.
