1994 Chevy Nova fan clutch

I have a high pitch noise. With the belt off the only thing that squeals is the fan clutch. Is that possible? If the fan clutch goes bad could it squeal?

yes it's possible for the fan clutch to squeal. But it could be your alternator as well along with any other type of bearing you have on it.
