i have a question on the 88 chevy nova. my vehicle was running earlier today. when i made a left hand turn the vehicle shut and will not restart. i have since determined that the engine has no fire by way of the trusted method of puling a spark plug pluuding it back into the plug and laying it on the valve cover then cranking the motor.(this i have done with this car many times to check the fire). i then pulled both the coil and the icm and took them to be tested. the coil tested perfect but the icm was untestable so i went ahead bought a new one. i have reinstalled these parts on my car but am still unable to get the car to fire off. i know fuel is good and compression checked at about 142 lbs. this is a 4 cyl. 2bl 1.6l any ideas were i need to go from here. also i did try bypassing the power supply to the icm and ran wires directly from the battery which to no avail the car still wouldn't startany ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
