Where is the heater core located and how hard is it to change? thanks

updated 2-2-09 please let your advisor know that on the 78 Nova you have to take the front pass wheel off and go through the fender well to get to the bolts that hold the heater core in and it is a pain in the hooper but all worked out. thanks again jj

the heater core is on the passangers side under the dash. you will have to disconnect the lines coming from under the hood that has coolant. then you will have to remove the clips that hold the cover case in place. in some cases you will have to remove the whole heater assembly. Once you have it down you will be able to get at the heater core. WATCH OUT THERE WILL BE STILL SOME COLLANT IN THE HEATER CORE SO HAVE A CATCH PAN HANDY.
