Gas Tank

I have a 2000 monte carlo with 125,000. The last couple of times I have tried to add gas to the tank, it acts as if it is full and gas even comes out the filler neck. It takes 5 - 10 minutes to add a gallon of gas. Any ideas on what could all of the sudden cause this to start happening?

There's a small valve in the filler neck that has to be changed, I am unsure of the cost...
