Tires and Wheels problem
2005 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Automatic 54000 miles

My traction control feature engages when I am just pulling out of a driveway or taking off from a parking spot and only going under 5miles/hr. The traction control light on the dash comes on AND the tires feel as if they are spinning but almost unable to grab hold of the street properly. I have to release the gas pedal for it to stop.
Please help?????????
Thank you.

Sounds like you have a wheel speed sensor going bad.
It is reading that you have a wheel locking up and so kicks on the Trac control. Over 5mph it is probably getting a reading and so it only does it at lower speeds. The sensor is not bad enough to throw a ABS fault code(and kick on the ABS light), but bad enough to cause issues...
