Steering problem
2001 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

When I turn right and get going the car pulls to the right but after I turn left the car drives nice and straight. The lower control arm bushings, ball joints and sway bar are all good. What could the problem be? Someone said it could maybe be a strut bearing but I dont know how I would tell wich one. If that could be the problem.

Ok give me some info first if you would. What speeds does the happen at? Does it feel like you have no power steering when this happens? When you go to correct does it seem to over correct itself at first? Get back to with some answers and anything else you can think of and we will see where we go from there.

The car pulls right at all speads. The power steering feels fine. No it does not over correct I just have to keep steady pressure on the wheel. After you turn a corner left then it is fine. I didnt notice this until I put new tires on the car that is when it started. I switched the front and back tires around in case I had a bad tire but that did not help. I took the car in for an alignment and they said my right lower control arm bushing was ripped right loose but when I took it apart it looked just fine. I think he was just trying to rip me off because he wanted to change the bushing himself. Every thing else looks fine. I just dont know what else it could be. Have you ever heard of a strut bearing doing this?
Thanks, Greg

Ok did this start after the tires or after the alignment? If the camber is adjusted to far to one side it will do this. I have not heard of a strut bearing doing this either not without making lots of noise. Now how do the tires look as far as the in and out of the top of the tire? Meaning does one side seem to look like it tilts further in or out then the other? If so then you need to take it somewhere else for an alignment. Let me know what you find and if you can send me a pic of the lower control arm bushing he is refering to and I will see if I can see anything wrong with it if you like. Does the front end make any loud popping or banging noises? Let me know what you can.
