2000 Chevy Monte Carlo Ignition switch

2000 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I'm trying to remove the ignition switch from a 200 Monte Carlo SS but i don't know how to remove the wires and cable from the switch without damaging them or the switch. Any advice on how to do the removal safely would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

if you are just doing the lock cylinder, turn the key to the start position and push in the button for it and pull
