2000 Chevy Monte Carlo

The car had a dead battery. As soon as I hooked up a battery charger the car alarm went off and could not stop it until the charger was disconnected.

Did you try turning the key to the run position and waiting for alarm to stop. Sometimes if you don't have a key fob this might be necessary. If this does not work you may need to get a key fob programmed
