Noises problem
1998 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 140000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I had a new air compressor installed a year ago and after it was replaced the belt started to break. I have replaced 6 belts in 6 months and each time have been told something different, I was told it was a belt tensioner and so replaced that but it didnt stop the belt from breaking. I have most recently been told it is the crank shaft pulley that is bent (I was told to look at the part and see it bent) there was something bent but it turned out to be just a plastic cover not the actual pulley which I almost paid to fix. Sometimes the belt lasts months sometimes only weeks. Incidently after paying 900 for a new compressor that doesnt work either. I dont run the air conditioner and the car makes this whirring noise from where the belt is located.
