Air Conditioning problem
1998 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, I am having problems with my air conditioner. When I turn it on, it doesnt blow as hard as it's supposed to. Also, instead of coming through the main vents, it gets redirected to the defroster and feet vents. What do you recommend to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Fernando

I have a knob that goes from left to right and it starts with "Max AC" then to "AC" then to "AC to the feet" and then defrost, etc... No matter how much I turn the knob to different settings, nothing changes. It still blows air through the feet and defrost vents. I dont think I have automatic temp controls.

pull the control head out and see if there is vacuum to the HVAC head. if not thats your problem. then check under the hood and make sure the vacuum line is hooked up.
