While i was trying to start the car the negative battery post (on a side post battery) melted. I then replaced the battery to a top post battery and replaced the cable terminals and now i can't get the car to come on period. I hooked up some jumper cables to it and it was pulling juice from the other car, but still no power

probably fried the starter and or the fusible link at the starter, check there then get back to us..
