1976 Chevy Monte Carlo Corroded engine

I took off the water pump and discovered there was a lot of corrosion going on inside the engine. I was wondering what the best way to clean out the engine is?

That is quite normal to see the rust stains at pump.A coolant system flush will help. The key is regular flush and fills at 30K intervals.
