1973 Chevy Monte Carlo V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi, I iwant to installl the optional rally cluster with ammeter. The car has only a Gen. light. What wiring alterations have i to do, for making the ammeter work?

Hello, nice picture. My info showed the alternator charge wire goes to the bat terminal at the starter solenoid, red wire. Take it loose, run that wire to the positive side of ammeter, run another wire from the negative ammeter terminal back to the same connector at the starter solenoid. Your wiring the ammeter in series on that circuit. Both wires need to be 10 gage or larger. As far as the size wire you use, some info says to use wire rated 10 amps higher than the max output for your alternator.

That wouldn ´t work. You cannot install such a wire into the stock printed circuit
