2007 Chevy Malibu brake lights

replaced brake switch. Brake lights are on initially, hit brake pedal go off and stays off. Pedal does not control rear brake lights

Did you check the connector at the brake pedal position sensor? Ref voltage-- signal-- ground. Also check the park lamps relay and fuse in the rear fuse box. Your owners manual should give you the location of that fuse box. My info says rear quarter-panel, you may have to access from the trunk?
