2007 Chevy Malibu
we were driving and it sounded and felt like the tires skipped. there was an odor like burnt rubber. every time we turned on the a/c, it made a noise, but only when it's turned on and every once in a while if we leave it on. It still blows cool air. we don't use it anymore, so it may have stopped blowing cool air if we'd have left it on. the mechanics said it was the compressor and that the repair would cost $1,000. It's a new car and someone said the compressor should have lasted much longer. Could it be something else and if not, should it cost so much and can it be replaced with a used compressor instead of a new one. where can i get one?
sorry i didn't reply but there were no responses for a while on my post adn i gave up. the dealer called the company and we got the compressor replaced for half that amount.
