when i drive my car the brake lights on the back stay on. when i am stopped they go off. i had a new cruise control switch put in but did not help. what do you think it could be?

Have you checked the brake light switch on the pedal?

no i have not tried a brake switch. but i will tell my mechanic about it. i have tried the cruise control switch that is on the pedal. are these two parts 2 different pieces all together. or one in the same. thank you for your response earlier.
