My heater only puts out warm air even though the engine is hot. Is this the thermostat or something else?

I need you to check something. With the engine warmed up and the heater on high, feel both heater hoses under the hood. They should both be hot. Let me know what you find.

PS: If the car isn't overheating and it warms up normally, the t-stat should be fine.

I have the same problem. 2006 malibu with 3.5l. AC work great. All settings for air direction work. No heat coming out. Both heater hoses are very hot. Temp gauge in middle as it always has been.
One thing I noticesd is that I can remove the filler cap and there is no pressure. I AM NOT losing fluid and it is full. All fuses are good. Ideas or instructions? Thanks

I would start by checking the blender door. It is located near the heater core. If it doesn't open, no heat can enter the vehicle.

Check under the hood on the firewall. I believe the HVAC box is on the passanger side. Also, if you follow the heater hoses, they will lead to the heater core.
