Brakes problem
2004 Chevy Malibu 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 73k miles

Cars shudders at low speed when brakes are applied shudders little when accelerating after. Randomly stops shuddering when brakes applied easier to brake. Is it possible fluid pump needs replaced? Or is it possible the brake pads need to be replaced? Also only shudders in back.

If frequency of this vibration increases when braking from higher speeds, it is possible that one or more brake rotors have excessive lateral runout. This brake pulsation may vary in severity, depending on temperature. It is hard to say what the condition of the pads are, at 73k. I would recommend a full brake inspection.
