2003 Chevy Malibu Water in coolant bottle overflows

Engine Cooling problem
2003 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Last few days the water in the coolant tank has been overflowing when the car comes to a stop and shuts off . I haven't seen the temp gauge go up at all above normal
But it is a concern since the low coolant light will come on when I start it again.

Maybe faulty cap on recovery tank. If fans working and temp good then cap is weak and can't hold pressure so coolant goes out overflow.
